Just the tip: Refrigerate your apples

Apple season is upon us. And there’s nothing I hate more than mealy, past their prime apples.
Last year, on “Please Explain” with Lenoard Lopate (an NPR segment that airs every Friday afternoon), they had some apple experts on. They said that apples stored at room temperature deteriorate ten time faster than apples stored in the fridge. This is for serious. Put away your fruit bowls. I’ve put apples in the fridge that have kept for like a month.
Are you listening Fairway and Park Natural? If supermarkets knew their shit, they would save a lot of money on wastage.
